Dominion (Lycopolis Trilogy #3) - Ali Luke

Dominion picks up just where Oblivion ends. Normally in other trilogies there is a small time gap. But here there is nothing of that sort. Not even a minute gap. It helps in keeping the fast paced narrative without breaking the flow.

Kay has at the end with the help of others managed to free Edwin of Oblivion. But that came at a cost. Seth now seems more out-of-his-mind. With the disappearance of Oblivion the protection of the house is gone. The demons are closing in and they only have a few days till they break through.
Abandoned by everyone except Kay and Brandon, Seth remains in that house. Not even able to go to a hospital.
But his smart-ass comments are too much to take even for Brandon.
His relation with Kay isn't that good either. When during a misunderstanding he uses her weakest point to hurt her ,Kay had had enough. Both of them leaves. Now Seth is totally alone.
How long can he stay in the house. The demons are getting louder and louder. It maybe only a matter of few minutes till he is captured and dragged to the Prince or worse eaten alive.

Kay wants nothing more to do with Seth or Lycopolis. She's done with him. This was too much. She's done wasting her life on him. But when Seth gets possessed again and lands in the lap of Mark and Hannah she can't just walk away. She hasn't forgiven him yet. But she will save him from the Prince even if she dies trying it.

This is as good as the previous two books. What I realised in the course of this trilogy is that, everyone here makes mistakes(more like becomes the bad person and does unspeakable crimes...according to morality) but then they also repent and regret and in the next instance they do something good.
It's all about balance.
The ending was justifiable and quite appropriate.

However I felt that if the relation between Seth and Kay were explored a bit more that would have been perfect.
We don't actually even at the end get the relation between them. Sometimes they act as friends , sometimes Lover. And while the author shows that they both have some type of feelings for each other she does not make that clear.
However the ending definitely hints at the lover theory.

The fact that Seth almost became normal after the ending of the prince also seems a bit shocking as we are too accustomed of seeing him as too emotional, rude, snarky and sometimes insane.
But he seemed more wise and sane and downright philosophical after the Prince lost control of him.
If this is the real Seth, I don't think that the readers will dislike him much. In lot of aspects he seems like a child who acts as a grown up.
I've rarely encountered a character as complex as him.

KUDOS to Author Ali Luke for making such a complex character and for spinning such a splendid tale of darkness, horror, terror, free will, manipulation, hope and penance.
I'm sure that this will impact everyone who will read this.

But an ADVICE Don't read it until you are mature enough to handle very deep and dark side of reality.
It may cause you to loose sleep otherwise.

Overall a great book.
And a great trilogy.
You should definitely buy it.
