A Flight of Broken Wings (The Aeriel Chronicles #1) by Nupur Chowdhury

"Six hundred years ago, humanity rose up in revolt against the Aeriels, who were driven from earth and back into their homeland of Vaan after a bloody and glorious war.

Eight years ago, Ruban’s home was destroyed and his family murdered by an Aeriel.

When a new Aeriel threat looms over Ragah, the capital city of Vandram, Ruban Kinoh must do everything in his power to avenge his family's past and protect the future of his country.
Which is hard enough without being saddled with a pretty and pompous aristocrat, who seems as useless as he is vain. Faced with a conspiracy that might cost humanity its hard-won freedom, and accompanied by the bejeweled and glitter-clad Ashwin Kwan, Ruban begins his journey into a land where the past and the future intertwine. "

So I recently completed this fantasy novel and let me tell you something it was epic, like really really good. Normally I give spoilers or a brief synopsis of the story but here I'll not (hate me all you want, though I know you won't;))
You'll have to read the book absolutely. Because it is that fantastic. Though I'm not exactly a fan of science fiction still I enjoyed it a lot. And believe me when I say that I'm not a fan I mean that I kindof hate it. It is a beautiful blend of fantasy, action, adventure and sci-fi.
The author really out do herself in this book. I'm very eager for the next release.
Can't wait to read more about all my beloved characters and their worlds.
The writing style is very simple and straightforward. Also the surprisingly humorous inner dialogues and descriptions given by the characters makes it a marvellous read. I had lots of fun while reading it. Though I felt at first that it would be a gloomy, dark read given the opening but to my utter surprise that wasn't the case. The story was interspersed with subtle wit as well as  incidents which brings an instant smile to our face.
None the less it was an emotional tale and I really admire the author for writing such a great story.
I would definitely suggest others to give this a go. Believe me you'll not regret it!
