Archer's Voice - Mia Sheridan
I've forgotten how many times I've read this book. It's my comfort place. It never gets old neither loses it's charm. The first time I read it I was probably a little over 16. Since then I'll cone back to it whenever I had a bad day and start reading it. It's just such a beautiful story.
Bree Prescott is running. Running from her past, her heartbreak and her grief. She finds refuge in a small town which seems picture perfect with no hidden darkness or secrets. Bree thinks that she will finally be able to outrun her pain and grief here. Wrapped in the warm Sunlight and friendly people. Yet, her loss seems to be determined to keep it's hold on her.
Archer Hale is just a boy. Someone forgotten by this cheerful small town. Someone too withdrawn and different than others. Bree finds herself drawn to him as she gets to know him better. His kindness, understanding, compassion and pain tugs at her heartstrings. She is unable to resist him. He is so alone that Bree is unable to leave him.
But their happiness is threatened by his past. It seems there was a terrible injustice done to a sweet girl in the past. A injustice so wrong and chilling that if uncovered will make everyone of this town speechless with shame and surprise. It seems that this town also has it's fair share of secrets and pain.
