Archer's Voice - Mia Sheridan

I've forgotten how many times I've read this book. It's my comfort place. It never gets old neither loses it's charm. The first time I read it I was probably a little over 16. Since then I'll cone back to it whenever I had a bad day and start reading it. It's just such a beautiful story.
Bree Prescott is running. Running from her past, her heartbreak and her grief. She finds refuge in a small town which seems picture perfect with no hidden darkness or secrets. Bree thinks that she will finally be able to outrun her pain and grief here. Wrapped in the warm Sunlight and friendly people. Yet, her loss seems to be determined to keep it's hold on her.
Archer Hale is just a boy. Someone forgotten by this cheerful small town. Someone too withdrawn and different than others. Bree finds herself drawn to him as she gets to know him better. His kindness, understanding, compassion and pain tugs at her heartstrings. She is unable to resist him. He is so alone that Bree is unable to leave him.
But their happiness is threatened by his past. It seems there was a terrible injustice done to a sweet girl in the past. A injustice so wrong and chilling that if uncovered will make everyone of this town speechless with shame and surprise. It seems that this town also has it's fair share of secrets and pain. And the worst of all in the centre of it stands Archer.
Can Bree uncover this truth and put a wrong done centuries ago right?
Can she heal a broken heart?
Will she be able to embrace not only her grief but also the grief of Archer and a sweet orphan girl of the past, forgotten by all, and emerge victorious?
Or will she again run from everything, just as she did in the past?
A spellbound tale of mystery, heartbreak, disappointment, pain of loss, innocence shattered, blossoming love, strength from grief, secrets revealed and realisation of self.
The characters are so vivid it feels as if they are real. The narrative is splendidly written, making the story a  unforgettable one.
Archer and Bree both are such characters that they inspire us. Archer's struggles are heartbreaking as well as inspiring. Breeds determination shines through the dark hours like a ray of light. Her strength and indomitable spirit makes her one of a kind.
Author Mia Sheridan has my many many thanks for gifting her readers with such a heart wrenchingly beautiful story.
